Weddings
Marriage is a gift of God our creator. It is a symbol of God's unending love for his people, and of the union between Christ and his Church. Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong partnership uniting a woman and a man in heart, mind and body. In the joy of their union, husband and wife enrich and respond to each other, growing in tenderness and understanding.
Weddings are conducted following the rites of the Anglican Church of Australia, basically as per “A Prayer Book for Australia”. Under the regulations, Marriages in an Anglican Church have to be celebrated by a licenced priest, with the permission of the Archbishop. They may be celebrated in any of the Parish Churches or in another venue that is pastorally suitable.
Arrangements for weddings can be made via the Parish Priest, though for All Saints at Tamrookum, permission must be obtained from the trustees.
It is mandatory that the Notice of Intended Marriage form be completed at least one month before the wedding, but as much notice as possible is requested to allow for all documentation, meetings with the priest and other arrangements to be made.
Fees for weddings in the Parish are:
Priest $300
Church $300 (All Saints $350)
Organist $150
Costs of venues outside of the Church are the responsibility of the marrying couple.
